If you've been wondering about this celebrity couple's
status, wonder no more. Nicki Minaj and Meek Mill have broken up, Minaj
confirmed on Twitter Thursday. "To confirm, yes I am single," she
wrote. "Focusing on my work & looking forward to sharing it with you
guys really soon. Have a blessed New Year. Love u."
There have been
breakup rumors surrounding them for sometime
now, but especially due to an
Instagram Minaj shared in December 2016, where she wrote, "Thank God I
dodged the bullet. I'm so over u. Baby good lookin out.
#BestThingUNeverHad." Well, now their status is clear as day.
Minaj and Mill first started dating in 2015 and then it
appeared they got engaged in April 2015 after she was spotted wearing a huge
diamond ring. The "Black Barbies" artist also shared that same April
on Twitter, "I'll post it later," accompanied with emojis of a
diamond ring, a yellow heart, and a single diamond. Then, in December 2015, she
posted an Instagram of her huge rock, which further fueled rumors.
However, their relationship status became even more
confusing when Minaj appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in April 2016 and
said, "First of all, that’s not an engagement ring. I have two rings from
this boy that likes me.
That’s not my engagement ring though. He said, that’s
my second ring, and he said if I get a third ring, then that’s my engagement
ring." She also said, "We’re still figuring each other out. In fact,
I don’t even want to say I’m in a relationship anymore, because I think when
people hear that they go to a mean place… Now, just going back to saying, you
know what, I’m single."
