Africa Fashion Week London is happy to announce that renowned accessory designer, Anita Quansah, will be joining Africa Fashion Week London in leading two exclusive 2-hour accessory design workshops at AFWL2021, Freemasons Hall on Saturday 9 October.
UK-born to Nigerian and Ghanian parents, Quansah has won accolades for her 3-dimensional designs and her pieces have been deemed museum-worthy.
After completing a degree in Textile Design at Chelsea School of Art & Design in 2003, Quansah developed her textile and embellishment skills, winning the attention of major fashion houses such as Diane Von Furstenberg, DKNY and Victoria’s Secret.
Her burgeoning ideas and skills for jewellery design were still in their infancy and largely self-taught, but that did not stop the fashion world from taking notice and she gained international recognition. Quansah has showcased at "Made By, Worn By" exhibition in Museum Volkenkunde Leiden, Netherlands; "Bead Art from Africa" exhibition at the Museum Reitburg, Zurich.
Her designs have appeared in Elle and Vogue Magazines, CNN, Wall Street International, Essence Magazine, French Glamour, Candid, Flux, New African Fashion and the Independent.
More recently, she has collaborated with Swarovski for a collection of footwear and legwear for SS2020 trends.
Anita Quansah’s 2-hour workshops will run from 12 – 2pm and 3 – 5pm. You can book either time.
All equipment, beads and materials will be supplied. Anita will take you through the fundamentals of jewellery design and through the steps of making your own wearable piece of art to take home. She will make herself available after the sessions to coach you further if you so wish.
